The new YOU

You have been made the righteousness of God

[sc]"Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new.
And all things are of God, who hath reconciled us to himself by Jesus Christ, and hath given to us the ministry of reconciliation;
To wit, that God was in Christ, reconciling the world unto himself, not imputing their trespasses unto them; and hath committed unto us the word of reconciliation.
Now then we are ambassadors for Christ, as though God did beseech you by us: we pray you in Christ's stead, be ye reconciled to God.
For he hath made him to be sin for us, who knew no sin; that we might be made the righteousness of God in him." - 2 Corinthians 5: 17-21[/sc]

Righteousness is the ability to stand in the presence of God without condemnation, guilt, fear or inferiority. It is the act of being justified. We are justified by the blood of Jesus and by faith.
We must not confuse righteousness with holiness. Jesus' righteousness has been imparted on us. God paid for you and me to be like Jesus. The price was the blood of Jesus.

[sc](5) "Much more then, being now justified by his blood, we shall be saved from wrath through him."
(17) "For if by one man's offence death reigned by one; much more they which receive abundance of grace and of the gift of righteousness shall reign in life by one, Jesus Christ.
(18) "Therefore as by the offence of one judgment came upon all men to condemnation; even so by the righteousness of one the free gift came upon all men unto justification of life."
(19) "For as by one man's disobedience many were made sinners, so by the obedience of one shall many be made righteous. - Romans 5:9, 17-19 [/sc]

We must put away a sin consciousness and develop a righteousness consciousness. You have been made the righteousness of God and you are a new being. As righteousness, you have right standing with God.

[sc]"For whom he did foreknow, he also did predestinate to be conformed to the image of his Son, that he might be the firstborn among many brethren.
Moreover whom he did predestinate, them he also called: and whom he called, them he also justified: and whom he justified, them he also glorified." - Romans 8:29-30[/sc]

In the past, the church has failed to see the truth revealed in the Word and as a result was taken captive by failure, guilt, discouragement, sickness, poverty and defeat.

[sc]"Herein is our love made perfect, that we may have boldness in the Day of Judgment: because as he is, so are we in this world." - 1 John 4:17[/sc]

As He is, so are we now in this world. God says we are exactly like Jesus now, not when we get to heaven. Jesus is forever righteous, healthy, strong, blessed, and prosperous. We are to be like him now.
We have to understand what God says about us; believe what He says about us; say what he says about us and then we become what he says about us.
When righteousness becomes a reality in our hearts, then and only then will we begin to walk in the full inheritance.

[sc]"And ye are complete in him, which is the head of all principality and power." - Colossians 2:10[/sc]

In other words you are completely righteous, completely healthy, completely prosperous, completely blessed and completely like Jesus. God states you are completely like Jesus.
You receive righteousness the same way you received salvation, by faith. You have to believe and confess what God about you in order to receive it. Remember, you got saved by believing and confessing and that is the same principle God established in order to become righteous.

[sc]"Even the righteousness of God which is by faith of Jesus Christ unto all and upon all them that believe: for there is no difference" - Romans 3:22[/sc]

[sc]"That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved.
For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation." - Romans 10:9-10[/sc]

Your faith in the word of God makes you overcome all guilt, fear, condemnation, failures, sicknesses, curses and the sin nature that keeps you bound.
Some people say but I don't feel righteous. Your feelings have nothing to do with it. God says it, believe it and settle it in your heart. Your feeling will rob you of the blessings of God if you continue to base your faith on them. Until we begin to declare what God says we are and have, we will never be and have what he says is ours.
God sees us perfect but we know that we make mistakes and sin, but we have an advocate with the Father, Jesus Christ the son of God and as we confess our sins He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and cleanse us from all unrighteousness.

[sc]"If we say that we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us.
If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness." - 1 John 1:8-9[/sc]

Confess this out loud now:
"Father, I thank you that you are making me more like Jesus everyday"
As we confess this daily, we begin to grow in the strength of God's word and live up to his expectation.
