Casting your cares upon the Lord

It is human nature to be concerned about the problems and bad circumstances we encounter – but our words, attitude and action may give the devil access and cause us to worry beyond what is reasonable.
Worry will do you no good, nor will it move your life forward. Worry is the opposite of faith and it will steal our God given peace and wear us out causing fear, torment, fatigue and even sickness. In fact, worry is part of the curse of the law (Deut. 28:66 - 67). It is also a sin to worry for whatsoever is not of faith is sin (Romans 14:23).
Worry comes when we don't trust God to take care of our situations. We rely on our own abilities or knock on every door until we find out that nobody can help, all are limited and there is no way. In this process, we have wasted time, energy and money as we travel to and fro seeking man's answer to our problem. Then, as a last resort, we now knock on Heaven's door and ask the Father, still though unconvinced that He can take care of us.

"Therefore humble yourselves (demote, lower yourselves in your own estimation) under the mighty hand of God, that in due time He may exalt you,
Casting the whole of your care (all your anxieties, all your worries, all your concerns, once and for all) on Him, for He cares for you affectionately and cares about you watchfully." 1 Peter 5:6-7 (Amplified Version)

Since Jesus encourages us to cast ALL our cares, anxieties, worries and concerns on Him, why do so many of us refuse to let go? The Word tells us that God's mighty hand will exalt us as we humble ourselves and throw, release and expel our cares to Him. The only way to have victory in our lives is to be obedient and do what the Word says! Notice that the humble gets the help they need. So, as soon as the storms of life hit and cause concerns, we need to run to God first. Prayer should be our primary resort!
In humbling ourselves before the Lord, He will exalt us from poverty to prosperity, from curse to blessings, for sickness to health, from nobody to somebody.
Now, we have a choice to make. Either we are going to sort out our problems ourselves and fail or God's going to do it and give us the peace and victory we need. However, we need to understand the once we cast our cares, we need to have faith and let Him deal with it for us. In whosoever hands the problem is in, then that hand is responsible to do something about the problem. That does not mean you just sit there but you must do what you can do and trust God to do what you cannot do! Remember Jesus' first miracle at Cana when he turned water to wine (John 2: 1-11). He gave them specific instruction to do and he did what they could not do. Through prayer, worship and the Word, we will receive the instructions and know what to do.

Mat 6:31

"Therefore do not worry and be anxious, saying…" (Amplified)
"Therefore take no thought, saying…" (KJV)

Notice that thoughts and saying are linked. Worries are in the thoughts and to worry is to take thoughts. Those thoughts will produce our words and we get what we say (Mark 11:23). Worry involves negative thoughts, but speaking positive things out of your mouth will interrupt those negative thought patterns. So, refuse to worry about the issues of life by casting down every thoughts and imaginations, and every high thing that exalts itself against the knowledge of God (the Word of God), and bringing into captivity every thought to the obedience of Christ (2 Corinthians 10: 4-5).

Your obedience to the Word of God will help you overcome worry and your storms of life. So don't waste another day in your life in worry. Remember, when we do what we can do, God steps in and does what we can't.
