Overcoming bad habits & addictionsIn order to overcome the devil Jesus said "it is written." "It is written." "It is written" and the devil left Him. He defeated the devil by speaking the written word. Then angels came and ministered to him. When Satan or evil spirits leaves, you will need to be ministered to. It takes energy, persistence and consistency to resist the devil. For every spiritual resistance, there must be spiritual assistance. I John 2:14 says, "I have written unto you young men, because you are strong, and the Word of God abides in you, and you are victorious over the evil one." You're strong when the Word of God abides in you. The Word of God is your spiritual assistance and it produces power and energy call spiritual resistance. John 6:63 says, "It is the Spirit that quickeneth; the flesh profiteth nothing: The words that I speak unto you, they are spirit and they are life." Build up a habit of speaking the Word of God over your life, family and circumstances. John 15:7 says, "If you abide in Me, My words abide in you, you shall ask whatever you wish, and it shall be done for you." Scriptures describe the achievement of CHRIST for us which MUST BE RECEIVED AND APPLIED through faith in the Word of God, through repentance, through obedience to the Holy Spirit. "If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness." I John 1:9 "Therefore submit to God. Resist the devil and he will flee from you." James 4:7 "Therefore if the Son makes you free, you shall be free indeed." John 8:36 "…For this purpose the Son of God was manifested, that He might destroy the works of the devil." I John 3:8 "…For I will forgive their iniquity, and their sin I will remember no more." Jeremiah 31:34 Getting delivered from ADDICTIONSAddictions are sometimes passed down from generation to generation. The Bible says that God will visit the iniquity of the fathers up into the third and fourth generations. Is a curse affecting your life?"Who gave Himself for us, that He might redeem us from ALL INIQUITY, and PURIFY unto Himself a peculiar people, zealous of good works." Titus 2:14 "Christ hath redeemed us from the curse of the law, being made a curse for us: for it is written, cursed is every one that hangeth on a tree : that the blessing of Abraham might come on the gentiles through Jesus Christ; that we might receive the promise of the spirit through faith."
