Praising God"Let us draw near with a true heart in full assurance of faith, having our hearts sprinkled from an evil conscience, and our bodies washed with pure water." Hebrews 10:22 "Wherefore the Lord said, Forasmuch as this people draw near me with their mouth, and with their lips do honour me, but have removed their heart far from me." Isaiah 29:13 "By him therefore let us offer the sacrifice of praise to God continually, that is, the fruit of our lips giving thanks to his name." Hebrews 13:15 Praise is to minister to God. Praise is to exalt, glorified and magnified the person of God, His attributes, in essence, who He is. We will see that there are benefits if we continually PRAISE God with a good heart and attitude. Praising God demonstrate our assurance of faith. A relationship with God cannot exist without praise. Many people sing songs to the Lord and even give praise and thanks to the Lord as a tradition or as a religious act and not out of love for the Lord with a Spirit of faith. "He staggered not at the promise of God through unbelief; but was strong in faith, giving glory to God" Romans 4:20 Faith and Praise works hand in hands. As we walk by faith, we will continually praise God no matter what the circumstances are. That is how Abraham received his blessing. Praise strengthened his faith and he gave glory to God BEFORE the manifestation. Therefore, Praise is a spiritual weapon that will eventually cause a natural manifestation! The benefits of PraiseHere are some benefits in heartily praising the presence of God and magnifying His name. "But You are holy, O You Who dwell in (the holy place where) the praises of Israel (are offered)." Psalms 22:3 "I will praise thee, O LORD, with my whole heart; I will shew forth all thy marvellous works. I will be glad and rejoice in thee: I will sing praise to thy name, O thou most High. When mine enemies are turned back, they shall fall and perish at thy presence." Psalms 9:1-3 Your praises will bring a manifestation of God's presence. The presence of God will scare the enemy. It will cause the downfall of the adversary. The enemy cannot stand in the presence of God, so as you praise God, the devil has to flee from your life, your house and your generation. "He who brings an offering of praise and thanksgiving honors and glorifies Me; and he who orders his way aright (who prepares the way that I may show him), to him I will demonstrate the salvation of God." Psalms 50:23 "And at midnight Paul and Silas prayed, and sang praises unto God: and the prisoners heard them. And suddenly there was a great earthquake, so that the foundations of the prison were shaken: and immediately all the doors were opened, and every one's bands were loosed." Acts 16:25-26 When we praise God, the prison door of the devil will be shaken from the foundation and it will break open. Praise brings deliverance! Praise will bring a demonstration of God's awesome power to your life producing the salvation that you need. "Out of the mouth of babes and sucklings hast thou ordained strength because of thine enemies, that thou mightest still the enemy and the avenger." Psalms 8:2 "… For this day is holy unto our Lord: neither be ye sorry; for the joy of the LORD is your strength." Nehemiah 8:10 Praise gives you strength to stop the devil and his cohorts. Faith in God produces joy that will give you spiritual strength. No devil or challenge will seem too big for you. You will receive an impartation of God's strength to take the challenge of the devil on and win. "As soon as they began singing, the LORD confused the enemy camp." 2 Chronicles 20:22 Your praise to God will cause confusion in the enemy's camp and will bring you victory. "Thank (God) in everything (no matter what the circumstances may be, be thankful and give thanks), for this is the will of God for you (who are) in Christ Jesus (the Revealer and Mediator of that will)." 1 Thessalonians 5:18 As you praise God, you will be in the will of God. The word of God is the will of God. So you see that praising God is useful and favorable for us. By praising God, we are reminded of the greatness of God! His power and presence in our lives is reinforced in our understanding and it discharges strength in our faith, which causes God to move on our behalf. |
