Shout your blessings to you

[sc]“Now Jericho was straitly shut up because of the children of Israel: none went out, and none came in: And the LORD said unto Joshua, See, I have given into thine hand Jericho, and the king thereof, and the mighty men of valour: And ye shall compass the city, all ye men of war, and go round about the city once. Thus shalt thou do six days.” Joshua 6:1-3[/sc]

Jericho was a fortress city situated in the Jordan valley. It was the first of Israel 31 battle and conquest. Israel represented the church. Israel was delivered from Egypt which represented the world. They crossed the Red Sea which was a type of baptism and then were prepared to possess the promise.

The battle for Jericho was the beginning of harvest. They had experienced deliverance from Egypt. They progressed towards destiny being directed by a pillar of cloud by day and of fire by night. After miraculously crossing the Red Sea, their disobedience resulted in spending 40 years in the desert. Even then they received supplies of manna and quail from heaven. They have heard about a promised land. They have seen a change in leadership. They were late for their blessing. Their stiff neck attitude towards God belated their destiny. Many have died not being able to see and live that promise. Even Abraham was late to achieve the promise.

The church of Jesus Christ much like the children of Israel has been delivered and baptized, nonetheless there has been a time where she has sat in the wilderness unable to move forward and occupy what was rightly hers. Many of us have been wondering and wandering without purpose and goal. We are not where we were, but we are not where we want to be!
Many believers hesitate and procrastinate concerning God's word. When we fail to act upon God's word, we fail to be victorious and successful in life. We find ourselves delayed towards our destiny. Discouragement, frustration and despair then set in.

God gave Joshua specific instructions to be carried out in order to realize this major task. In their own ability they could not even think of taking Jericho on. They were not experienced men of war; they were people of the wilderness and evidently lacked the knowledge, skill and strategy to defeat a city of this caliber. Victory would come as a result of their obedience to God.

Just like Israel was to obey the specific instructions given from El Shaddai to Joshua to the people, we are to do the same concerning His Word. The time of hesitation and uncertainty is over. The delay and procrastination has caused more pain and confusion. Believers, like Joshua, need to act on the Word as soon as it has been received. In seven days, a week's time, the hindrance and walls of Jericho will tumble down.

There are walls erected before us, Jesus called it a mountain (Mark 11:23) that has keeps us from receiving our inheritance, our harvest, our blessings. The walls came down with a shout; Jesus said the mountain will go with the voice of faith. That mountain could be sickness, poverty, curses, lack, brokenness and so forth, but your breakthrough in life will come as you receive revelation from the Word. In the midst of your darkness, void and confusion, the Word brings light and life becomes good!

So shout to the mountain and tell it where to go. Don't speak about it, don't publicize it! Say what you want and call it in, believing you have received when you've said it. These are the first steps of faith that empower us to overcome.
