Church Daytrip

Image: sfmauritius/Daytripmap.jpgLove, Joy, Fun, Peace, living in Harmony and Understanding is what the Christian Life is all about. It is part of our right and inheritance in Christ Jesus.
1st May being a public holiday in Mauritius, our churches gathered together and went on an outing to Plaine Champagne and Le Morne.
At least 40 percent of our members were present on this beautiful sunny day. The absentees were due to the fact that they were either working or seized the opportunity to visit family members.
However, with about a hundred people from our three different churches that are in Mont Choisy, Port Louis and Flacq we made the trip that clocked over 200 km from the north to the south of the island.

Plaine Champagne

Image: sfmauritius/plainechampagne2.jpgPlaine Champagne is the highest part of the central plateau (740m/2430ft), and reputed for its viewpoints, nature life and the Cattley guava also known as cherry or Chinese guava. There we spent time to pluck the delicious guava. Plaine Champagne is part of the natural reserve area and as such still contains some wildlife such as deers, monkeys and, wild boars. Image: sfmauritius/view2.jpgOn our way there we took time to admire God's superb creation of nature, the mountains, the lakes, the reservoir, the sea lining the horizon, the rich and wild vegetations and different species of trees as well as the beautiful view of the Black River Gorge.

Black River Gorge

Image: sfmauritius/gorge1.jpgThe Black River Gorges is a 6,574 hectare park proclaimed natural reserve in 1994 and is a beautiful location for nature admirers and birdwatchers. It gives visitors an excellent opportunity to see spectacular sceneries. The gorges have immensely contributed to the regeneration some endangered endemic bird species such as the Mauritian Kestrel and the pink Pigeon.

Le Morne Beach

Image: sfmauritius/praise1.jpgFinally we reached Le Morne beach! The reputation of Mauritius is established for its sandy beaches and tropical seas charmed by the coral reefs and as Mauritian we are privilege to enjoy this anytime.
Le Morne has a great public beach where the sand is soft and the clean water of the ocean where you can swim and bathe making it an ideal place to spend the whole day.
It was a time of gathering for lunch and sharing.Image: sfmauritius/beach1.jpg
As always we seize the opportunity to together praise, pray and honour God even in public. This resulted in other people admiring the attitude of unity and enjoying the songs that we heartily sung towards our Lord Jesus.

It was truly a blessed day!
